CASE STUDY #2

Global Cisco Webex™ rollout in times of a pandemic

Old Tech: Cisco Jabber™, CWMS

New Tech: Cisco Webex™

Changes: big

Industry: Manufacturing

# Users: 2.000

Locations: 11

Objectives

The objective was to reach a high number of users abroad due to smaller offices sites and their weaker connection to the headquarter.

Conditions

Customer wanted to start with a business pilot of approximately 120 users; then planned to do a big bang, worldwide rollout for the entire company.

Challenges

Replacing a user adoption supplier with which the customer was unhappy meant a significant time delay and a lost opportunity to reach a high user adoption rate. Challenges also rose during the project due to the Coronavirus and its implications on the entire enterprise. In addition, a migration from the former parent company’s client to an independent IT had to be performed.

Solution

We went for a global mass rollout due to the Coronavirus crisis. Users were addressed in two languages with relevant information regarding Webex and Webex Meetings. Depending on their respective use cases and their experience with previous unified communications technology, we segmented the 2.000 users into five target groups. There was a strong focus on global information that was accessible to everyone and gamification on the other end.

Results (after FRINK took over)*

Messages shared via Webex saw a significant increase in the growth rate by 85% in the first month

We saw a radical increase of 91% in 1:1 spaces within one month

84% of users saw the importance of Webex for their daily work

91% of users said they know Webex better after the campaign

65% would have recommended Webex to a colleague

The number of Webex meetings increased by 57% in only one month

*All case study results are derived from a user survey and usage statistics, which we consider an integral part of the User Adoption project.
